The forecast half predicts the VO₂max change caused by indoor HIIT sessions — a Random Forest baseline at MAE ≈ 3.11 against 4.26 for linear regression.
The two halves need each other: the energy systems run concurrently, so a scalar intensity score is the wrong shape and the catalogue supplies the vector.
